Afghanistan, March 22 -- On day 23 of the war, the United States and Israel signaled a possible escalation in airstrikes against Iran, amid growing regional tensions and continued exchanges of attacks.

Donald Trump warned that Washington could strike Iranian infrastructure, including power plants, if Tehran fails to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, raising fears of escalation.

The Israeli military said Iranian missiles struck areas in southern Israel, including near Dimona, injuring dozens and causing damage. Iranian state media, however, described the operation as "precise retaliatory strikes" targeting strategic Israeli sites.
