Afghanistan, June 28 -- Colombia secured first place in Group K after a goalless draw against Portugal, with both teams advancing to the knockout stage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The match ended 0-0 early Sunday, leaving Colombia top of the group with seven points, while Portugal progressed in second place with five points.
Colombia created the better scoring opportunities throughout the match, but failed to convert them. Defender Davinson Sanchez thought he had scored late in the game, but the goal was ruled out following a VAR review for offside.
Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo had limited impact, with his only shot on target coming from a long-range free kick that was comfortably saved by the Colombian goalkeeper.
