Afghanistan, June 8 -- Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has warned that climate change represents a serious threat to humanity, saying its consequences are comparable to those of wars and global pandemics.
Speaking in Istanbul on Sunday, Erdogan said the world is facing a period in which technological advances and artificial intelligence are accelerating production, while excessive and unsustainable consumption is placing growing pressure on natural resources and the environment.
He said climate change has become one of the most pressing global challenges and called for greater international efforts to promote sustainable development and environmental protection.
