Afghanistan, Sept. 12 -- The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has declassified and released 71 presidential intelligence briefs that warned U.S. leaders about al-Qaeda's plans to carry out attacks inside the United States before the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
The documents were published on Friday to mark the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks and include daily intelligence reports that were provided to former Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush before the attacks. The CIA described the release as the largest simultaneous declassification of its analysis related to 9/11.
