Afghanistan, May 10 -- The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) agency said a cargo vessel was struck by an unidentified projectile about 42 kilometers off the coast of Doha, according to reports on Sunday.

Al Jazeera Media Network, citing the British maritime agency, reported that the commercial ship was sailing in waters northeast of Qatar when it came under attack.

According to the report, the vessel's deck caught fire after being hit, though crew members managed to contain the blaze before it spread further. No immediate casualties were reported.
