Afghanistan, May 30 -- Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney said relations between Canada and China are moving toward a more stable and constructive footing following high-level discussions with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, who is visiting Canada for the first time in nearly a decade.

Carney said the talks focused on expanding cooperation and creating new opportunities for engagement, describing them as a continuation of progress made during his visit to China earlier this year. He said both sides were working to strengthen bilateral relations despite longstanding differences on several sensitive issues.
