Afghanistan, June 15 -- A child was killed and two others injured after an unexploded ordnance detonated in the Dasht-e Kewan area of Ghazni city, local authorities said.

According to the Ghazni police command, the incident occurred on the afternoon of the previous day when three children found an unexploded explosive device and attempted to move it, triggering the blast.

The latest incident adds to a series of similar explosions across Afghanistan, including a recent case in Barmal district of Paktika province, where at least seven people were killed and four others wounded in an explosion involving unexploded munitions.
