Afghanistan, July 30 -- Afghans who worked alongside UK forces were wrongly denied relocation and left facing years of danger, delay and uncertainty because of administrative failures, prolonged secrecy and flawed decision-making, a UK parliamentary committee has warned.
In a report published Thursday, the House of Commons Defence Committee said a review of cases involving former Afghan specialist unit members, known as the "Triples," overturned 884 earlier refusals. The committee described the review as a "major corrective exercise" and said some affected Afghans had spent years in hiding, depleted their savings and seen their realistic routes to safety diminish.
