Afghanistan, July 9 -- At least nine people, including eight Rohingya refugees, were killed after heavy monsoon rains triggered landslides across refugee camps in Bangladesh's Cox's Bazar district, authorities said on Thursday, as rescue teams searched for survivors and officials evacuated families from areas at risk of further slope failures.

The landslides struck several sections of the sprawling refugee settlements after days of intense rainfall saturated hillsides, burying temporary shelters beneath mud and debris. Emergency responders recovered bodies from collapsed homes while continuing search and rescue operations in the affected camps.
