Afghanistan, July 25 -- Five people were killed and three others injured after a sudden collapse of loess soil buried a residential property in a village in northern China's Shanxi province, Chinese authorities said on Saturday.

The collapse occurred at around 6:49 p.m. on Friday in Haoyi village in Hongtong county, in Linfen city, according to state-run Xinhua news agency. The incident trapped eight people beneath the debris, all of whom were later located, authorities said. Five were found without signs of life, while three others were rescued and taken to hospital in stable condition.
