Afghanistan, May 18 -- Russian overnight drone and missile strikes on Ukraine killed at least one person and injured around 30 others, Ukrainian officials said Monday, a day after Kyiv launched one of its largest drone assaults against Russia.

According to Reuters, Russian forces targeted several Ukrainian regions, including the southern port city of Odesa and the southeastern city of Dnipro, using drones and missiles overnight.

Kherson regional governor Oleksandr Prokudin said one person was killed and nine others wounded during Russian attacks on the southern region.

Local officials in Odesa said Russian drones struck residential buildings, a school and a kindergarten, injuring at least two civilians, including an 11-year-old boy.
