Afghanistan, July 23 -- Tawab was just 14 years old, a sixth-grade student known for his good handwriting, academic performance and Quran recitation. But after severe head pain sent him to a hospital in Kabul, his family says he was referred to a mullah instead of receiving the medical tests they had requested. Days later, the boy was dead.
According to his father, Tawab began suffering from severe pain in his head and was taken to Jamhuriat Hospital in Kabul for medical attention. His father said he asked the doctor to examine his son and conduct medical tests, including a scan, to determine the cause of the pain.
