Srinagar, May 15 -- Peoples Democratic Party leader Zuhaib Mir criticised the ruling Jammu and Kashmir National Conference over electricity issues, alleging that the party had failed to fulfil its promise of providing relief to consumers under the proposed "One Time Settlement" scheme.

In a statement issued during a public outreach programme at Dalgate here, Mir said the power outage at a household during the interaction reflected the hardships faced by residents. He claimed the family had been without electricity for nearly six months.

"Six months of darkness, uncertainty and helplessness, while those in power continue to deliver speeches and photo-ops," Mir said.
