Srinagar, May 17 -- Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh on Sunday said the women of Jammu and Kashmir are emerging as a powerful force in India's development journey, asserting that the region's daughters are excelling in education, civil services and leadership roles.

Addressing the National Commission for Women's "Power Dialogue on Women" programme in Jammu and Kashmir, Singh congratulated NCW Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar for organising the initiative in the Union Territory as part of a nationwide series.
