Jammu, May 3 -- The Vande Bharat Express has emerged as a preferred mode of travel between Jammu and Srinagar, offering a faster and more affordable alternative to air and road transport, Northern Railway said on Saturday.

According to a press release issued by the Jammu Division, the train completes the journey in about four hours and 45 minutes, significantly reducing travel time compared to road travel while offering a comfortable experience.

The fare for the service starts at around Rs 730, excluding catering charges, making it accessible to a wider section of passengers. In comparison, airfares on the route are currently ranging between Rs 4,000 and Rs 6,000, the release said.
