UCC, Waqf Bill will be decided by Parliament, not states: CM Omar Abdullah
Jammu, Sept. 15 -- Share Tweet Share Jammu, Sep 15 (KNS) Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday said the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) must be decided by Parliament, not by individual states or Union Territories, insisting that state-level moves will not be final until a countrywide law is enacted. His remarks came in response to Uttarakhand becoming the first state to implement the UCC. "Let them do what they want to do till a law is enacted for the country. Finally, it is Parliament which will decide on this and not the individual UTs or States," CM Omar told reporters here as per news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS).
