In a major enforcement drive aimed at ensuring student safety, the Traffic Police in Rural Bandipora conducted an extensive check of school buses and other vehicles today, imposing fines amounting to ?18,400 through cash challans.

During the drive, a total of 15 vehicles were challaned for various violations, while one vehicle was seized for non-compliance with legal requirements.

Speaking on the occasion, SO Traffic Rural Bandipora, SI Farooq Ahmad, stated that the department is prioritising strict monitoring of school transport. He revealed that several school buses were found operating without proper documentation.
