Katra, May 12 -- An elderly woman from Madhya Pradesh, who got separated from her family at the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra railway station, was reunited with them following a timely intervention by the ticket checking staff, an official said on Tuesday.

Uchit Singhal, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Jammu told news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) the woman, a resident of Vikramgarh, was found in a distressed condition near the inquiry counter on Monday evening.

He said ticket checker Kamalkant noticed her and upon inquiry learnt that she had lost contact with her family a day earlier amid the rush at the station.

"She could not provide clear details about her relatives as she was under mental distress," Singhal said.
