Tarigami Says Article 370 Abrogation Altered Union-J&K Relationship, Renews Statehood Demand
Jammu, Aug. 5 -- Share Tweet Share Srinagar, Aug 5 (KNS): CPI(M) leader Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami on Wednesday described the abrogation of Article 370 as a "systematic assault" on the relationship between the Union and the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir, alleging that democratic space had continued to shrink since the constitutional changes of August 5, 2019. In a statement issued on the seventh anniversary of the abrogation of Article 370, Tarigami claimed that political activity and democratic expression in the Union Territory continued to face restrictions despite the passage of seven years.
