Srinagar, April 29 -- The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Crime Branch Kashmir has registered a case against an unauthorised consultancy for allegedly duping a man and trafficking him to Cambodia on the false promise of a job, officials said on Wednesday.

An official told news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) the complainant was lured by the consultancy operating from Pattan area with an offer of employment as a computer operator abroad with a lucrative monthly salary, he said.

Acting on the assurance, the victim transferred a substantial amount to the operator's bank account and also bore expenses on travel and related purchases, the officials added.
