Sopore, April 24 -- Police have booked six persons under the Public Safety Act (PSA) for their alleged involvement in vandalism and public disorder during a recent student protest in this north Kashmir town, officials said on Friday.
An official told news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) those detained have been identified as Umar Akbar Hajam, Salman Ahmed Shala, Altaf Ahmed Sheikh, Mubashir Ahmed Gilkar, Muzammil Mushtaq Changa, and Majid Firdous Dar - all residents of various localities in Sopore.
The accused were booked after obtaining detention warrants from the office of the District Magistrate and have been lodged in District Jail Bhadarwah, the official said.
