Rajouri, May 29 -- A joint anti-terror operation by the Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF entered its seventh day on Friday in the forest areas of Manjakote sector in Rajouri district, officials said.

The search operation is underway in the Gambhir Mughlan and Dorimal forest belt following intelligence inputs about the presence of suspected terrorists in the area, they said.

Officials said security forces have intensified the operation by tightening the cordon around the dense forest region to prevent the militants from escaping.

Heavy exchange of fire and shelling was reported in the Dorimal area on Thursday as the operation reached a crucial stage, they added.
