Srinagar, May 10 -- Peoples Conference chairman Sajad Lone on Sunday urged the administration to reopen the Tosamaidan tourist destination in central Kashmir, saying tourism is the backbone of Jammu and Kashmir's economy and the move could create opportunities for local youth and businesses. In a statement, Lone said several tourist destinations were temporarily closed after the Pahalgam attack as a precautionary measure, but most spots have now been reopened. "With most tourist spots now reopened, it is my humble request to Hon'ble LG Manoj Sinha to also reopen Tosamaidan with proper facilities, security arrangements, and infrastructure so that people can once again witness the breathtaking beauty of this paradise," he said.
