Srinagar, April 29 -- The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Provincial President Kashmir, Showkat Ahmad Mir has dismissed PDP's claims about Urdu's removal as baseless, reaffirming that the language remains central to the region's curriculum and administration.

Speaking at a meeting of party functionaries at the party headquarters Nawa-e-Subha, Mir said the National Conference-led government does not make decisions to appease its "masters" unlike the previous PDP administration. "Every decision of our government is guided by the interests of Jammu & Kashmir, public aspirations and democratic principles," he added.
