Srinagar, May 2 -- Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti has set up a high-level committee for the expansion and strengthening of the party, appointing senior leader Dr. Mehboob Beg as its head.

The committee, according to a party sources including former minister and senior leader Advocate Abdul Haq Khan, former minister Peerzada Mansoor, former MLC Yasir Reshi, and sitting MLA from Pulwama, Waheed-ur-Rehman Para, as members.

Party sources told news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) the development assumes significance as the PDP looks to re-energise its cadre base and broaden its organisational footprint in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. (KNS)
