Over 2,500 OGWs detained in major crackdown across Kashmir after Anantnag attack
Jammu, July 22 -- Share Tweet Share Mohammad Suhail Srinagar, Jul 22 (KNS): In a massive crackdown following the terrorist attack in Anantnag district that killed a policeman, security forces have detained over 2,500 suspected Over Ground Workers (OGWs) in simultaneous raids across 10 districts of the Kashmir Valley. An official told news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) the operations were launched in Srinagar, Anantnag, Baramulla, Budgam, Shopian, Ganderbal, Pulwama, Kulgam, Bandipora and Kupwara based on specific intelligence inputs to dismantle terror support networks providing logistical, financial and shelter assistance to militant outfits, he said.
