Srinagar, April 19 -- The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah on the occasion of World Heritage Day called for the preservation and protection of the region's rich cultural heritage, emphasizing the importance of not only visiting heritage sites but also understanding their historical and cultural significance.
In a press statement issued from the party headquarters, Nawa-e-Subha, Dr. Farooq highlighted that Jammu and Kashmir remains a vibrant center of cultural heritage. He noted that the region has historically been a meeting point of great civilizations, owing to its proximity to the ancient Silk Route.
