Srinagar, June 1 -- Continuing its offensive against substance abuse, Srinagar Police on Monday organised a drug awareness rally under the Centre's 100 Days Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan and the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.

The rally began at Police Station Maisuma and passed through Ghanta Ghar and Lal Chowk before concluding at Pratap Park. Officials said the event saw active participation from students of Gowsia Middle School Maisuma, members of the Traders Association Lal Chowk, local shopkeepers, and residents.

Conducted under the supervision of the SDPO Kothibagh, the rally aimed to educate the public - especially young people - on the ill-effects of drug abuse and the need for collective action, a police spokesperson said.
