Media body condemns abuse and threats against journalist in Bandipora
Bandipora, June 1 -- The Bandipora Journalists Association (BJA) on Sunday strongly condemned the alleged use of abusive language and threats against journalist Bilal Rahami of reputed news agency-Kashmir News Service (KNS) by officials of the Forest Department after he reported on issues related to the functioning and management of Chandaji Park in north Kashmir's Bandipora district.
In a statement, the association said that Rahami was subjected to repeated phone calls from department officials after the publication of his report. It alleged that the journalist was threatened and spoken to in an abusive manner for carrying out his professional responsibilities.
