Jammu, May 20 -- Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday handed over appointment letters to over 3,200 newly recruited constables of the Jammu and Kashmir Police and asked them to dedicate themselves to defending the unity and integrity of the country.

Addressing the new recruits at a ceremony here, the Lt Governor said the nature of law and order threats and terrorism has evolved, demanding constant and unyielding vigilance.

"We must remain constantly alert and vigilant against threats that hide in plain sight," Sinha said.

He observed that new recruits must work as a team because the threats J&K confronts demand cooperation between different agencies.
