Baramulla, April 12 -- Aaqib Khan

Two persons were seriously injured in a leopard attack in Tangmarg area of north Kashmir's Baramulla district on Sunday, officials said.

The injured have been identified as Abdul Rahim Ganai and Mohammad Sultan Najar.

According to locals, the leopard had been roaming in the Marchipora and Chandilora areas of Tangmarg for the past several days, triggering panic among the public.

Eyewitnesses said the leopard first attacked Najar near Gousia Model School in Chandilora and soon after attacked Ganai in Mirchipora village.Both were critically injured in the incidents.

The injured were shifted to the Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Tangmarg, where they are undergoing treatment.
