Jammu, May 22 -- Leader of Opposition in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Sunil Sharma on Friday said land grabbers have "no religion" and accused certain political leaders of attempting to shield illegal encroachments while diverting attention from governance issues.

Speaking to news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) Sunil Sharma said those involved in illegal land activities should not be linked to any community, adding that action against encroachment was being resisted by some vested interests.

"Land grabbers have no religion. Those who do illegal work should be treated as non-religious. Some leaders who have been in power for a long time are worried because this action will reach their homes," Sharma said.
