In a deeply emotional and symbolic gathering, hundreds of displaced Kashmiri Pandits returned to the historic Nand Kishore Temple in the Sumbal area of Bandipora district to participate in the annual three-day Sumbli Mawas festival after nearly 37 years.

The festival, celebrated on the birth anniversary of Nand Kishore Maharaj, witnessed devotees arriving from different parts of the country to offer prayers, reconnect with their ancestral roots, and relive memories associated with their homeland.

The temple premises turned emotional as several families reunited with old neighbours and acquaintances, reflecting the spirit of brotherhood and shared heritage that has long defined Kashmir's social fabric....
