SRINAGAR, May 14 -- A journalist was injured on Thursday after a tree fell on his motorcycle near a madrasa in Tangmarg area of north Kashmir's Baramulla district.

The journalist, identified as Ubaid Malik, who works with the Early Times media organisation, was passing by when the tree suddenly collapsed onto his two-wheeler.

He was taken to the Sub-District Hospital (SDH) in Tangmarg for initial treatment and later referred to the Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial (JVC) Hospital in Srinagar for specialised care.

Hospital authorities said his condition was stable.
