Baramulla, April 9 -- A woman police follower has been dismissed from service following her involvement in a narcotics case registered by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), officials said on Thursday.

Follower Shameema Bano, who was attached to the Jammu and Kashmir Police, was removed from service with effect from April 8, 2026, they said.

She was initially placed under suspension in June 2021 after her arrest by the NCB, Jammu, in connection with a case registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, which involved seizure of contraband, officials said.
