Jammu, Sept. 1 -- Share Tweet Share Jammu, September 1 (KNS) The Jammu division of Northern Railway collected Rs 56.46 lakh in fines from passengers during an intensive ticket-checking drive conducted across the division in August, officials said on Tuesday. A total of 8,106 cases of ticketless and irregular travel, besides carrying unbooked excess luggage, were detected during the month-long drive, they said. The railway authorities said Rs 56,46,615 was collected as fines from the offenders as per the rules. The checking was carried out at major stations, including Jammu, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, Shaheed Captain Tushar Mahajan, Kathua, Pathankot Cantt, Budgam and Srinagar, as well as on various Mail and Express trains and special t...
