Srinagar, June 3 -- Jammu and Kashmir will continue to host major sporting events across the Union Territory to promote tourism and encourage greater participation of youth in sports, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah's Advisor Nasir Aslam Wani said on Wednesday.

Speaking on the sidelines of a cyclothon event here, Wani said the government has been organising a series of sporting activities and plans to hold more such events in the coming months.

"We are trying to promote sports activities in Jammu and Kashmir. Earlier, there was a golf event and before that we organised a marathon. Now we are conducting a cyclothon," Wani said, as per KNS.
