J-K's Gurez schools finally get 27 lecturers back after years
Jammu, May 9 -- Suhail Rather Srinagar, May 09 (KNS): In a significant step aimed at strengthening the education system in the remote Gurez Valley, the Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) has transferred 27 Higher Secondary School lecturers from various institutions across Kashmir to fill long-pending vacancies in the region. The transfers were ordered through Order No. 192-DSEK of 2026 after approval from the competent authority and have come into immediate effect. According to official sources, several lecturer posts in different higher secondary schools of Gurez had remained vacant for a prolonged period, badly affecting academic activities and creating a serious teaching gap in various subjects.
