Jammu, April 21 -- Prominent Islamic cleric Maulana Rehmatullah Qasmi on Monday said that Islam lays down a code of conduct for human life, including clear boundaries on intoxicants and individual responsibility towards society. Speaking to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Qasmi said that guidance on human conduct is laid down in the Holy Qur'an, where matters of permissible and prohibited actions are explained. He said lack of understanding of religion leads to confusion about what is right and wrong. Referring to teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), he said every individual has responsibility towards society and is accountable for actions.
