Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Sunday accused opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of levelling "baseless allegations" to divert attention from its alleged role in helping the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) win a Rajya Sabha seat.

Dismissing the PDP's charge of "backdoor appointments" by his government, CM Omar asserted that outsourcing and backdoor recruitment were "poles apart".

"Outsourcing is not a backdoor. What should I teach the PDP people? I am tired of teaching them. They don't know Urdu. They don't understand English. How should I explain to them in French?" the Chief Minister said.
