Baramulla, April 25 -- Uri MLA Dr Sajjad Shafi on Saturday thanked the people of Baramulla for sheltering nearly 50,000 displaced persons from his constituency during last year's Operation Sindoor, saying their hospitality helped limit casualties to just one death.

Addressing a gathering at the Degree College for women, where Education Minister Sakina Itoo was present on the occasion, the legislator as per news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) recalled the mass displacement caused by the military operation along the Line of Control (LoC).
