Jammu, May 23 -- The Jammu and Kashmir government on Saturday ordered an early start to summer vacations for schools in the Summer Zone of Jammu Division, citing prevailing weather conditions.

Education Minister Sakina Itoo as per news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) announced that primary classes will begin their break from June 1, 2026, while students of Classes 6 to 12 will follow suit from June 8, 2026.

The minister also wished all students a safe and enjoyable vacation. (KNS)
