Harmukh-Gangbal Yatra 'living expression of eternal faith', says LG Sinha
Jammu, Sept. 18 -- Share Tweet Share Srinagar, Sep 18 (KNS): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday flagged off the annual Harmukh-Gangbal pilgrimage at Ganderbal, describing the yatra as a "living expression of eternal faith" and a symbol of spiritual unity. Addressing the gathering, Sinha said Jammu and Kashmir has for centuries been nourished by an unbroken stream of faith, with its land carrying deep spiritual significance. Referring to historical and religious texts, he said Mount Harmukh, also known as Harmukut, is revered as the abode of Lord Shiva, while Gangbal Lake, located at an altitude of around 14,500 feet, is regarded as the sacred presence of Mother Ganga.
