Jammu, April 15 -- Srinagar, Apr 15 (KNS); Advisor to the Chief Minister Nasir Aslam Wani on Wednesday asked the handicraft industry to introspect on its own inaction, saying he had previously urged it to take necessary steps.
"Times have changed. The system of marketing has changed. Today, a lot of people want the convenience of shopping," Wani said at an event here as per news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS).
Recalling the pre-militancy era, he said the central market in Srinagar was once the only hub for handicrafts. "Then, when militancy came to an end, there was a big shock. The people who used to bring handicrafts to Srinagar had to shift again. A lot of people left," he added.
