Jammu, April 9 -- A counter-terror strategy centred on deploying Temporary Operating Bases (TOBs) along high ridges and mid-altitude zones has yielded results in Jammu region, with security forces reporting gains against terrorist activity, officials said. The approach, introduced by Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat, comes in response to a spike in terrorism between 2021 and 2023, when groups such as Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed attempted to regain a foothold in the mountainous belts of the Jammu zone.
