Delhi govt removes income clause for Kashmiri migrant relief
New Delhi, June 2 -- The All India Kashmiri Samaj (AIKS) on Tuesday thanked Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta for granting a one-time amnesty to Kashmiri migrants and removing income and property-related anomalies for cash assistance, which had remained suspended for nearly two years.
The decision will benefit 1,832 such families registered with the Delhi government, officials said. The government has removed the income-related eligibility condition for relief that was imposed by the previous Arvind Kejriwal-led dispensation.
In a press release, AIKS president Ravinder Pandita expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister and further demanded that the cash assistance amount, which was last revised a decade ago, be increased.
