Shopian, May 21 -- Stressing the need to reconnect society with its cultural and spiritual roots, Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board Chairperson Syed Darakhshan Andrabi on Wednesday said that strengthening ties with the teachings of saints, Sufis and rishis was essential for building a peaceful and crime-free society.

She was addressing the "Asluk Aalav" social transformation programme organised by the Public Welfare Foundation in Shopian. BJP General Secretary (Organisation) Ashok Koul was also present and addressed the gathering.
