BJP to stage protest against wine shops in Kashmir today
Srinagar, May 15 -- The Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Kashmir unit will hold a protest march here on Friday against the operation of wine shops in the valley, demanding a complete prohibition on the sale and purchase of liquor in the Kashmir division.
The march is scheduled to commence at 10 AM from Ram Munshibagh in Sonwar and proceed towards the residence of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah at Gupkar, a party spokesperson said.
The ruling National Conference (NC) was also targeted by the party, which accused it of defending the sale and promotion of alcohol in the region.
