Jammu, July 15 -- Share Tweet Share Srinagar, Jul 15 (KNS): The Jammu and Kashmir government has approved the upgradation of the Balhama Irrigation Canal in Srinagar at an estimated cost of ?2.72 crore, fulfilling a long-pending demand of local residents, MLA Ahsan Pardesi said on Wednesday. In a statement, Pardesi said the project, approved by the Irrigation and Flood Control (I&FC) Department, will strengthen the irrigation network in the area and ensure a reliable water supply to agricultural land. He said the canal upgrade is expected to improve farming conditions, enhance agricultural productivity and boost the livelihoods of people dependent on agriculture in Balhama.
