Srinagar, April 11 -- Former Srinagar mayor Junaid Azim Mattu on Saturday extended support to the 'Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan', calling drug abuse the "most daunting challenge" facing the society today.

In a post on X, Junaid Mattu as per Kashmir News Service (KNS) said he strongly endorsed the message and spirit of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha's communication on the anti-drug campaign.

The former mayor said the menace threatens youth, destabilises families and erodes the social fabric.

"This is not a moment for selective concern. This is a moment that demands collective awakening and action," he said.

Mattu said the cause required rising above politics, ideology and individual differences.
